The Gaming Giant Hires Apex Legends Developer to Rescue Troubled Action Game Project Ethos
2K Games has secured a seasoned producer from the creators of Apex Legends to direct the studio crew at their internal studio, which is currently crafting the anticipated third-person roguelike extraction-shooter known as this innovative game.
Leadership Transition Comes After Poor Reception
The new appointee assumes the role of studio head at the development studio following the dismissal of former leader Michael Condrey, who was removed from his post due to Project Ethos' disappointing unveiling last fall.
On Wednesday, 2K president David Ismailer notified team members about this decision through an internal memo, which highlighted that early feedback sessions had shown the requirement for a more defined vision.
The president expressed that the team is now reimagining Project Ethos with a renewed approach, aiming to address community desires.
A Pattern of Strategic Acquisitions
The news follows a similar move taken by 2K Games in August, when they brought on Rod Fergusson from the Diablo team to work on the beloved franchise studio Cloud Chamber.
Here is the complete content from the president's memo:
